SCHLENK TUBE

Objective

To know how to prepare a Schlenk tube

Materials

- Schlenk Tube

- 2 elastic bands

- Vaseline

- Stopcock

Procedure

First of all we need to put some vaseline in the top part of the stopcock, because if not there could be some diffraction.

Nextly, the schlenk tube has on the right part a little tube where we put that in it.

Then with an elastic band, so with the pressure that could be, it doesn´t go straight away.

Then, on the schlenk tube there is a large tube, well we have another piece that we need to put on top of it, with some Vaseline in it. The Vaseline needs to have the piece that is separated.

Finally, with the other elastic band that we have, we need to put two 180º round, and connect it in the two metal part.
